You can switch the idle scan on or off from here. Furthermore you can also regularly scan your computer, or areas of your computer, for infections instead or as well. For example, you can then run such scans at times when you are not using your computer.

Various virus checks: In many cases it is sufficient if the computer is being checked by the idle scan. However, you can also use the New button to set up various automatic virus checks that are independent of one another. Hence it is possible for you to check the Downloads folder daily, whereas you check your MP3 collection only once a month for example.
